Newsletter 2nd October 2020

Dear parents and carers,

Harvest Festival

Thank you for your food donations. These were taken to church and will be passed to the Bicester Food Bank. The Harvest Festival service was obviously very different this year. The children prepared video clips of different sections, and they watched them in class yesterday. If you would like to watch them yourself please follow this link:

The password will be e-mailed to parents separately.

Medical Notes

In accordance with advice from Public Health England, we are trying to ensure the classrooms have as much ventilation as possible. It is a difficult call balancing ventilation with comfort, but we aim to have windows open during lessons if we can and open doors during break times. Please make sure your child has layers on, particularly on PE days, when they may be wearing shorts; it is perfectly acceptable to wear track suit bottoms over the shorts in class. Please also ensure your child has a coat as we expect the children to go outside even if it is drizzling.

Drop Off and Collection

This is working well overall, but we need to make sure everybody sticks to their times to prevent large groups building up. Please follow these timings:

A-G     8.45am            3.00pm

H-O     8.55am            3.05pm

P-Z      8.55am            3.10pm

This way the playground can be empty by 9.00am and 3.15pm.

Playtime Snacks

If you wish to send a healthy snack for your child for playtime, please send in a piece of fruit or similar. Children in Willow and Ash classes receive a piece of fruit from the government scheme, so you do not need to send one in if your child is in one of these classes.

This week we congratulated:

Willow Class: Aaron, for beautiful reading and being kind to his friends;

Ash Class: Fred, for brilliant independent writing; Evie, for a lovely harvest prayer;

Oak Class: Math, for great enthusiasm for all his work; Isabella, for an excellent explanatory text;

Beech Class: Flossie, for a thoughtful harvest prayer; Tausif, for a positive attitude towards his work.

Our Christian Value this term is Responsibility. Ask your child about the parable of the talents.
