Medical Notes
Thank you for your support in keeping unwell children at home. The impact of this is that the nasty cold going around appears to have been stopped in its tracks, and attendance last week was exceptionally high!
If your child has an allergy of any kind, do make sure Mrs Robertson knows and all the necessary medical paperwork has been completed. Do also make sure that if your child has medication, it is kept in date.
Dinners
As you know, children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are able to receive free dinners at school. Our funding for this is calculated based on the numbers having dinner next Thursday 1st October. If your child is in one of those year groups, please consider letting them have a school dinner that day (even if you supplement it with a packed lunch) as the more children that have school dinner that day, the more money will be received by the school.
Harvest Festival
Thank you for the harvest gifts you sent today. These were taken by the children to the church to form a display, and they will be distributed to local families in need after the church harvest festival. The children’s Harvest Festival will be recorded next week, and placed on the school website for you to view.
Staffing
I am sorry to announce that Mrs Brees will be retiring at half term (final day Tuesday 20th October). She has been a formidable force behind the many sporting successes of the school, particularly in training the teams which reached the county finals for hockey, and she has inspired many children to an enjoyment of sport. If you would like to contribute to a leaving gift, please pass it to the office.

Cookery: Eleanor, for being able to follow a recipe and for helping others.
Our Christian Value this term is Responsibility. Ask your child about the story of the ant and the grasshopper. Which of them took more responsibility for using their time wisely and preparing for the future?
