Dear parents and carers,
Red Nose Day – Friday 19th March
Thank you for your support of this. We had a great time and as well as raising money for good causes, hopefully we managed to raise people’s spirits as well. There is still time to donate. https://app.parentpay.com/ParentPayShop/Foc/Default.aspx?shopid=2467
Easter Service
This will be prepared by the children in Oak Class. There will be a virtual assembly in school to say goodbye to Mrs Cornish and the children will then watch a video of the service. It will also be available on the school website (password protected).
Parent Consultations
These will be held via Teams for Oak Class on Wednesday 24th March (10.00am to 5.00pm) and for all other classes during the week beginning 26th April. Sign-up details for Oak Class have already been sent and information for other classes will be sent as soon as we return from holiday.
Clubs
A booking form for next term is attached to this e-mail. Please note that places are limited for some clubs, so get your forms in early.
Staffing
We are getting ready to wish Mrs Cornish well for her maternity leave – if you would like to contribute towards a gift for her and the baby, please send it in with your child. Her replacement teacher, Mrs Sellars, will be joining Mrs Cornish for some of the parent consultations next week, and will take over the teaching straight after the holiday.
Can you help?
If you have any over-the-head headphones going spare that you are able to donate to the school, we would be very pleased to receive them. Please send them in with your child.
Also, we would be very pleased to receive any old Lego you no longer use.
Contacting School
Now that all children are back at school please do not use the class e-mail accounts to contact teachers. Instead, queries should be directed through the office account. Although the accounts will remain open (in case we need to close classes due to positive COVID cases), they will not be checked by teachers on a routine basis.
Village Hall Car Park
We have been advised that there will be vaccination clinics at the Village Hall next week on Thursday and Friday. On those days you will need to find somewhere else to park.
Job Opportunity
The older children here at school have the chance to do cycling proficiency, which is a great opportunity for them. The organisation that supports us with this is recruiting trainers and has asked us to advertise this, so if this is something that interests you, do take a look at the attached details.
This week we congratulated:
Willow Class: Bruna, for great sentence writing and for kindness to her friends;
Ash Class: Fred, for being enthusiastic in our drama activity this week; Millie, for focusing on improving her handwriting;
Oak Class: Molly, for fantastic focus in lessons; Sammy, for amazing enthusiasm when learning about The Highwayman in Literacy;
Beech Class: Annabel, for a fantastic narrative poem; Zach, for working hard to produce a good narrative poem.
Our Christian value for the term is Compassion. Ask your child about the feeding of the five thousand.
