Newsletter 12th March 2021

Dear parents and carers,

Thank you for your support with the return to school for all children.  It is great to have them back and we will be working hard to fill any learning gaps whilst making sure that the children’s mental health and resilience is maintained.  As previously stated, please make sure you keep your child at home if there is any hint of illness, and arrange a COVID test if needed.  Don’t forget you can also have lateral flow tests for your households.

Menu choices for next week

We are now aligned to the original menu, starting with Week 1 next week.  The only change is that on Wednesday of week 1, option 3 is tuna pasta pot.

If you usually pay for your child’s meals, please log on to ParentPay to check your current balance.  We are unable to extend credit (for meals or other items), so do make sure there is enough on the account in advance.

Village Hall Car Park

Please note there will be vaccinations taking place on Monday 15th and Friday 19th so the car park will not be available on that day.

Red Nose Day – Friday 19th March

This year we are suggesting that everybody donates £1 per child, £2 per family and dresses up to make people laugh.  Please avoid clown costumes (to allow for those with coulrophobia), but other than that, let your imagination run wild.  We will also be attempting to make a design in the playground using low value coinage, so start collecting your coppers now.  There will also be the option of making a donation online through ParentPay  https://app.parentpay.com/ParentPayShop/Foc/Default.aspx?shopid=2467

Contacting School

Now that all children are back at school please do not use the class e-mail accounts to contact teachers.  Instead, queries should be directed through the office account.  Although the accounts will remain open (in case we need to close classes due to positive COVID cases), they will not be checked by teachers on a routine basis.

Parent Consultations

These will be held via Teams for Oak Class on Wednesday 24th March (10.00am to 5.00pm) and for all other classes during the week beginning 26th April.  Sign-up details will be sent nearer the time.

Easter Service

This will be prepared by the children in Oak Class.  There will be a virtual assembly in school to say goodbye to Mrs Cornish and the children will then watch a video of the service.  It will also be available on the school website (password protected).

This week we congratulated:

Willow Class: Marcel, for amazing letter formation and sentence writing;

Ash Class: Aidan, for being helpful and kind to all adults and children this week; Evie, for great independent writing in Literacy;

Oak Class: Kane, for trying his best in all lessons this week; Jake B, for excellent effort in Literacy;

Beech Class: Floss, for great perseverance in maths this week with fractions; Helena, for great work in science.

Our Christian value for the term is Compassion. Ask your child about Katie Morag and the sheep.
