Newsletter 26th March 2021

Dear parents and carers,

Easter Service

This will be prepared by the children in Oak Class.  There will be a virtual assembly in school to say goodbye to Mrs Cornish and the children will then watch a video of the service.  It will also be available on the school website (password protected).

Parent Consultations

These will be held via Teams during the week beginning 26th April for Willow, Ash and Beech classes.  Sign-up details will be sent as soon as we return from holiday.

Clubs

A booking form for next term went out last week.  Thank you to those who have already returned them – it helps greatly when planning staffing.

Staffing

Next week we say farewell to Mrs Cornish as she heads off for her maternity leave – if you would like to contribute towards a gift for her and the baby, please send it in with your child.  The children will say goodbye to her in a special assembly.

We will also be saying goodbye to Mr Campbell, who leaves us after working with Beech and Ash classes.  It has been great having him here, and we wish him well with his future studies.

Can you help?

If you have any over-the-head headphones going spare that you are able to donate to the school, we would be very pleased to receive them.  Please send them in with your child.

Also, we would be very pleased to receive any old Lego you no longer use.

Village Hall

Please note that vaccines will be being administered next week on Wednesday.  Please avoid the Village Hall car park on this date.

Holidays

We finish at the usual time next Wednesday 31st March and return on Monday 19th April.  I am expecting there to be various announcement from the Department for Education over the next few weeks, and will send out an update on arrangements towards the end of the holiday.  I am hoping that there will be a return to a bit more normality and would expect this to be reflected in our arrangements (eg a return to wearing uniform), but will wait to hear more before making final decisions.

Our Christian value for the term is Compassion. Ask your child about the story of Dorcas.

This week we congratulated:

Willow Class: Lincoln, for writing his name and his numbers beautifully;

Ash Class: Elizabeth, for increased confidence and great enthusiasm in the classroom this week; Amelie, for great engagement in her learning about Mary Seacole and producing an excellent piece of writing on her;

Oak Class: Matthew, for excellent effort with grid multiplication in maths; Grace W,for thoughtful comments in PHSCE;

Beech Class: Tia, for excellent answers in guided reading; Daisy, for great work with short multiplication.
