Dear parents and carers,
Oak Class Cake Sale – Friday 30th January
Thank you to Oak Class for donating cakes and to everyone who bought cakes today. A fantastic total of £123.15 was raised and the children have decided to donate the proceeds of their sale to a charity called Riding for the Disabled Association. Well done Oak Class!
Trip to Steam Museum for Beech Class
Beech Class enjoyed the trip to STEAM and learnt lots about the history of the railways. Thank you to Mrs Cornish for organising this and for the FODS who paid for the coach which greatly reduces the cost of the trip.
Beech Residential Meeting
Thank you to everyone who attended this. If you missed the meeting and need any information, please email the office.
Friends of Dr South’s Party Kit
Did you know that Friends of Dr South’s offer a re-usable party kit for hire – perfect for children’s parties? The kit includes 36 bowls, plates, and cups, as well as large jugs, serving bowls, and platters, and costs just £12.50 per party. Even better – if you return the kit within 24 hours, you don’t need to wash it up! To book the party kit, please speak to Rebecca Welsford or your class rep.
Soup Lunch and Talent Show – Friday 13th February
Auditions have been held and we have a wide variety of talents to entertain you in two weeks’ time. On Monday, a letter will be sent out with details of how to order food for this event.
If your child has a talent that cannot be performed on a stage, but they would like to share it ( hockey, model making, etc.) please feel free to send in a picture and we will display this in the village hall, so that all children have the opportunity to share their talents.

Ash Class Assembly – Friday 6th February 2026
Next Friday, Ash Class will be leading our assembly. Parents are welcome to attend to find out what their child has been learning recently. Assembly will begin at 2.30pm. Parents should come to the school reception and we will let you into the hall just before assembly begins.
This week we congratulated:
Willow Class: Grace, for colouring a beautiful rainbow; Lucy, for great independent writing including some red words;
Ash Class: Abigail, for always doing her best at everything and always with a smile; Thea, for increased confidence to produce some lovely independent writing;
Oak Class: Holly, for showing heart and creativity when writing a beautiful narrative based on the Wolves in the Walls; Rosie-May, for showing confidence in Literacy and following her plan to write paragraphs full of description;
Beech Class: George, for a positive and enthusiastic attitude to his work; Leah, for amazing sentences in Literacy about being stranded on Mars.
Our Christian value for the term is Wisdom. Ask your children about the story of Guru Nanak and the perfect banquet.
