Newsletter 27th September 2024

Dear parents and carers,

Weather

Thank you for working with us this week and ensuring that all the children have made it to school during this awful weather. We appreciate that many of you have had difficulty getting to school with road closures and flooding. Hopefully, the weather will improve next week and things will return to normal. If you are struggling to get here either before or after school, please contact the school office either by phone or email. If your children are in after school club and you are held up in traffic, please ring or email  the office and we will let after school staff know that you are running late.

Harvest Festival – Thursday 3rd October 2pm

We will be going to the church to celebrate Harvest Festival on Thursday afternoon.  Everybody is warmly invited to join us to hear the children sing, read, pray and show art work.  We would be very grateful to receive non – perishable harvest goods next week (please send to your class), including dried and tinned goods or toiletries, and will pass these to the North Oxfordshire Foodbank to be distributed to those in need.

Phonics presentation

Do you want to find out more about how phonics is taught as a way of helping your child learn to read?  There will be a short presentation in the Lin Cooper Practical Skills Building at 3.00pm and 6.00pm on Monday 7th October.  This is most relevant for families of children in Ash and Willow classes, but is open to everybody.  Please enter through the playground.

Data checking sheets

Thank you to all those who have returned these.  Please ensure you return yours if not already done so; it is essential we keep up to date information in case of emergencies.

Parentpay

Clubs have all now been processed.  Please make sure you log onto ParentPay and clear the debt. We ask that school dinners are paid for in advance, so please ensure that your account is in credit.  If you have any concerns over money issues, please do contact the office in confidence.

Secondary School Applications

Applications can now be submitted for children to transfer from Year 6 to Year 7 at secondary school for 2025/26.  Parents/carers can visit the secondary school webpages for all relevant information and to apply online at: www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/secondaryadmissions

The deadline for receipt of completed applications is 31 October and National Offer day is 3 March 2025.
