Residential Meeting – Beech Class
This will take place at 6pm this evening (Friday) by Zoom. If you have not had the link, please contact the office by e-mail. This account will be checked just before the meeting and we will send out the link again if we need.
Parent Consultations
We will send out links for these next week. We would like to do a first attempt with the Tuesday sessions and will send out the information for these on Monday, but please do not worry if you have not had your links in advance for other days. Please make sure that you have downloaded the necessary software for Zoom onto whatever device you will be using.
It is possible that there may be some technical glitches, so do please bear with us. If for any reason the system crashes, the staff will contact you by phone at the appointed time. If you would rather have a telephone consultation than a Zoom meeting, please contact the office and we will arrange this for another time.
Remembrance Day – Wednesday 11th November
We will be holding an event at school to mark Remembrance Day. Each class will visit the war memorial during the morning, and we will gather in the playground at 11am for the two minutes’ silence.
Children in Need – Friday 13th November
This takes place next week. This year there is a focus on mental health and wellbeing for all, so each class will do a short activity each day relating to this. Then on Friday, we are supporting feel-good Friday when then children can come to school in casual clothes; we look for a donation of £1 per child, £2 per family for this if you are able to support it.

Children’s Christmas Cards – order by Wednesday 11th November
The children have been very busy designing Christmas cards this week. These will be sent home today for you to admire and to enable you to place an order for your child’s unique design to be made into Christmas cards, gift tags, wrapping paper, mugs and water bottles! The children love seeing their artwork printed professionally and the cards are a special way to stay in touch with family members and friends, particularly those you may not see in person this year. In addition, every card ordered raises money for the school so please do place an order if you can!
All orders need to be placed online this year. To do this, please visit www.apfsorders.co.uk and enter the unique artwork code found on the label on the reverse of your child’s artwork. This will allow you to order as many cards, tags and mugs as you want! All orders must be placed and all artwork must be returned to school by Wednesday 11th November. This will allow enough time for the cards to be printed by the beginning of December.

Christmas Trees – order by Friday 27th November
Following fantastic feedback in previous years, the Friends of Dr South’s are selling Christmas trees once again to raise money for the Sparkle Fund. The premium Nordmann Fir (non-drop) trees are delivered directly from a Scottish plantation to Mill Street in Islip for Covid-safe collection the 5th/6th December (local delivery is also available). They will stay beautifully fresh if left outside in a bucket of water until you are ready to put them up, so don’t worry if you don’t want to start putting up Christmas decorations that early! The trees are available from 4ft to 7ft (or taller on request). Prices: 4ft+:£25, £5ft+: £35, £6ft+: £40, 7ft+: £50, 8ft+: £60 Do tell family and friends too – we are happy to sell to anyone!
