Newsletter 6th November 2026

Dear parents and carers,

Welcome back for our second term. The Christmas term is always very busy, so do check out the dates on the bottom of each newsletter. There is also a flyer with key events FODS events and fundraisers that are happening attached to the newsletter email.

Photographs

Individual and group photographs will be taken on Thursday morning.  Please make sure your child is looking extra smart.  If you would like a family group including younger siblings not at school, please let the office know by Monday morning – these pictures will be taken at 8.30am.

Remembrance

We will be making an Act of Remembrance on Wednesday 11th November which will begin at 10.50am. This will be in the playground and parents are welcome to join us if they wish.

Data checking sheets

Thank you to all those who have returned these.  Please ensure you return yours if you have not already done so; it is essential we keep up to date information in case of emergencies.

ParentPay

Thank you to all those who manage to keep their accounts up to date.  Please could you check to  ensure that you have settled any outstanding amounts on ParentPay for clubs or meals.

Beech Class trip – Thursday 12th November

Beech Class are off to the Ashmolean Museum on Thursday morning to attend a Shang Dynasty workshop. Please ensure they have a packed lunch and water bottle and that you have given consent for the trip on ParentPay.

Celebration Assembly

Today we celebrated with children who have achieved their 25 nights and 50 nights reading awards. Congratulations to Remy who was the lucky recipient of the prize book from the October book draw.

We also celebrated with Eva who received a swimming certificate for achieving her Level 4 award at her swimming class.

Birthday Books

Thank you to Charlie, Tom, Alex H and Abigail who have all celebrated their birthday by donating books to the school library – it is a wonderful way to increase the new books we have for the library. We will send out some wish lists shortly, but if you would like to mark your child’s birthday by donating a book and need some suggestions, do come and have a chat.

Uniform

Please could we ask that all uniform ( including PE kits) has your child’s name in it, so that we are able to reunite lost items with their owners. We have an increasing pile of lost property, so please make sure all items are named.

Also, please ensure that your child is not wearing leggings or joggers to school as these are not part of the school uniform. Joggers are fine for PE, but shorts or trousers should be worn as part of the daily school uniform.

Help with Willow Equipment

Next Sunday,(15th Nov) we would like some help to build the new playhouse which has arrived for Willow Class. If you are able to help, please contact the office and we can co-ordinate timings.

Our Christian value for the term is thankfulness.  Ask your child about the story of The Prodigal Son.

 Dates for the year

We have a church service most terms which all families are welcome to attend.

Our May Day celebrations are at the end of May and this is a whole day event for families to attend if they wish.

Sports Day is for the whole school and begins at 9am and last until approximately 1pm. Parents are welcome to watch and enjoy a picnic lunch with their child after the races if they are able to.
