Newsletter 13th September 2024

Dear parents and carers,

Class Meetings

It was good to see many of you at these.  A letter with all the information given at these meetings and an overview of the curriculum being delivered this term will be sent out in a separate letter later today.

Forest School

This starts next week for children in Years 4 and 6.  You should have received a separate letter regarding this.

Friends of Dr South’s: the 100 Club

The Friends of Dr South’s are running the 100 Club again this year – and numbers are now on sale!  These numbers, which are entered into the ten draws that take place throughout the academic year (October-July), cost £15 each, and offer the chance to win a top prize of up to £37.50 each month. The 100 Club helps to raise valuable funds for the school (up to £75 goes to the Sparkle Fund each month) and we would be really grateful if you could support FODS by buying a number or two. A letter with more information about the 100 Club has been sent out today, and there will be an opportunity to buy tickets in the playground before school from Tuesday to Friday next week. Please speak to Mel Green or Rebecca Welsford or email us at fods100club@gmail.com with any questions.  Thank you!

FODS Welcome back BBQ, Saturday 14 September

We are looking forward to seeing lots of families at the start-of-year barbecue tomorrow (Saturday) at the Village Hall from 3.30-5.30pm.  The forecast is currently for sunshine! Drinks and ice creams will be available to purchase on the day, and extra barbecued food will also be available. Please note that all children must be supervised by an adult and remain their responsibility throughout the event.

Kidlington Schools Brass Band

Gosford Hill School have a growing brass band which is open to children in Years 4,5 and 6  who would like to learn to play a brass instrument in a group. Instruments will be provided. Timings and costs can be found on the attached flier.
