Newsletter 27th February 2026

Dear parents and carers,

Welcome back

We hope that you had a restful break. There are lots of events coming up this term before the Easter Break.

Science Week – 23rd March 2026

We will be holding our school Science Week during the week beginning 23rd March.

Each year we have a week when we focus on aspects of science, particularly areas of science which we cannot do in school on a weekly basis.  As part of this, we ask for any parents who use science in their work in any way to come and talk to classes of children.  Some examples of people we have used in the past are nurses, gardeners, anaesthetists and vets.  If you would be prepared to come and talk, please email the office.

 Badminton Opportunity

The National Badminton association are holding a free badminton session with a GB Double Olympian. This will be at Kidlington & Gosford Leisure Centre on Wednesday 11th March 4:30pm – 5:30pm.  There is a flyer attached to this week’s email.

Places are limited, booking details are on the flyer as well as full details and the link to book on below:https://bookwhen.com/nb-openday

Soup Lunch and Talent Show

Thank you again for your support with the Soup Lunch before half term. We raised more than £450 from the sale of lunches and cakes, which is a fantastic contribution towards our £10,000 fundraising target for this year.

Dr South’s Quiz Night – Saturday 21 March

Dr South’s Quiz Night is fast approaching and tickets are selling well, so please book soon to avoid disappointment. It promises to be a great evening with fun brain teasers and delicious food and drink. This year’s quiz, which is being set by a team of parents, will feature a special round with contributions from Beech Class children.

Tickets are £17.50 each if booked before the end of February, or £20.00 from 1 March. The price includes a delicious meal and an amazing pudding table. To book tickets or ask questions, email drsouthsfriends@gmail.com or speak to Mel Green or Rebecca Welsford.
