Christingle
Thank you for everyone who donated money via the Christingle candles. We are still counting the money and we will let you know a total next week; all monies will be donated to the Children’s Society.
Cross Country Finals
Huge congratulations to the 14 runners that we took to Sibford School today to compete in the cross country finals. The Year 5/6 girls team of Charlotte, Darcey, Emmy, Millie, Alice, Anna, Ellie and Maurice came 11th. Rosie competed for the Year 3 and 4 girls and came 39th out of 105 runners. Leo S, Leo TO and Marcel competed for the Year 3 and 4 boys and came 47th, 61st and 67th and Charlie and Jonah competed in the Year 5/6 boys’ race and came 19th and 38th – again out of more than 100 runners. I was exceptionally proud of how well they all competed and supported each other today – well done to you all.
Willow nativity
Next Thursday, Willow class will be performing their nativity play for parents in the Lin Cooper Practical skills building at 9.30am. There will be refreshments after the performance when we will also do the raffle. Raffle tickets will be available to buy before the performance.
Christmas Music
We were thoroughly entertained yesterday afternoon by our Key Stage Two children who all performed beautifully on violins, violas and cellos. They wowed us with several songs and were joined by the choir for some festive numbers. Thank you to Mrs Halsey and Dr Adcock for organising the performance and I look forward to hearing more from our musicians later in the school year.
FODS Disco – Friday 13th December 3.30-5pm
We will be organising a children’s disco at the Village Hall on Friday 13 December from 3.30-5.00pm. Tickets – which cost £3.50 per child – can be bought in advance on ParentPay, and include a hot dog, crisps and a drink. There will also be a cash bar for adults. Please note that all children must be supervised by an adult, and remain their responsibility throughout the event. We hope to see lots of you there! As ever, we rely on volunteers to make this event happen. Please let Mel, Rebecca or your class rep know if you are able to help on the day – setting up the hall, serving food and drinks or clearing up afterwards. Thank you.
Minutes from the FODS meeting held on 18th November
Thank you to everyone that came to the FODS meeting last week to discuss the upcoming Christmas events and the fundraising goals for the year ahead.
Please do have a look at the minutes here to make sure you’re up to speed on all the exciting plans for the year ahead, and how you can get involved.
The next FODs meeting will be on 17th January at 8.45am in the Lin Cooper Practical Skills building.
Christmas Cooking (After School Club) – Monday 16th December
Clubs for the term finish on Friday 13th December. There will be extended after school cookery sessions through until 5pm on Monday 16th, where the children will make yule logs and on Tuesday 17th where the children will make Christmas sweets. These sessions are suitable for children in Years 1-6 only. General after school care will be available on all days if needed. The cookery sessions need to be booked in advance and will cost £10. These sessions will be limited to 15 places and need to be booked via an email to the office by Friday 6th December. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. There is no limit for general care, but please let the office know if you need after school care in the final week.
Christmas Bazaar
Please remember to send in your donations before Friday 13th ready for the Christmas bazaar. All gifts that are donated need to be individually wrapped in clear cellophane or grouped into a lucky bag ready for the children to buy. There is an item on ParentPay which will allow you to purchase tokens for the children to use to buy their shopping.
Lollipop Patrol
Please be aware that as Martin is unwell at the moment, he may not be available to cross children over the road at the beginning and the end of the day. If you have an older child who walks home by themselves, please let us know so we can cross them over the road at the end of the day.

Willow Class: Rhys, for concentrating well when painting and for producing a lovely Christmas tree; Antonina, for being so helpful in the classroom, especially during tidy up time;
Ash Class: Nina, for excellent contributions to class discussions and for being kind to others; Benji, for consistently applying himself to everything we do;
Oak Class: Max, for being creative and playful when writing a poem about a river; Dyma, for showing enthusiasm in Maths and being proud of knowing the 9 times table;
Beech Class: Sammy, for a positive attitude towards learning; Adam, for being very inclusive with the younger children at Sports Club;
Cooking: Nina, for excellent recall of knife safety and ensuring she followed the rules;
Our Christian value for the term is peace. Ask your children about the meanings behind the Christingle.
