Parent Consultations
By now you should have received your time and day for the meeting with your child’s teacher. As these meetings are quite short, do have a think beforehand what you would like to find out. If there is not time to cover everything at the meeting, all the teachers are very happy to see parents at another time if needed. Please make sure you have tested the Teams link if your meeting is virtual.
Equalities Week
We cover issues relating to equalities throughout the year in many different subjects, but for one week each year we take the time to focus on the issue in detail. Next week, across the school, the different classes will each look at various aspects of equality and inequality, and how they affect different groups of people. Do take the time to talk to your child to find out what they have learned.
Ofsted
Thank you for your support during this week’s visit. We were pleased with the day and we will be sharing the final report with you in a few weeks’ time.
The inspectors received a high number of parental responses which is an important part of the process so thank you for taking time to complete these questionnaires.
100 Club
With less than one week to go until the first 100 Club draw there are still numbers available. If you have not yet purchased a number or if you would like to buy another one please complete the attached form and return it to the school office or talk to Mel or Rebecca or email us at tfods100club@gmail.com. Numbers are £15 each and will be entered into 10 monthly draws. If all numbers are sold the top prize each month will be £37.50 with £75 going to the Sparkle Fund each month. Thank you.
Beech Class Football
Yesterday, the Year 5 and 6 boys attended a football tournament for the Kidlington Partnership. All the boys played extremely well and supported each other as a team. Both teams achieved fifth place in their group and we were very proud of how well they represented the school.
This week we congratulated:
Willow Class: Jack, for increased confidence in the classroom and being a great tidier; Robin, for superb independent writing;
Ash Class: Thomas, for increased independence in Maths; Reggie, for following instructions closely and working well with his partner;
Oak Class: Betsy, for showing curiosity and enthusiasm during our Stone Age workshop; Lincoln, for getting really confident when completing additions and using exchanges across tens;
Beech Class: Aidan, for amazing control over his writing including incredible work in SPAG; Emmy, for always smiling and being a beam of positivity and effort;
Cookery: Dyma, for good listening, following instructions and a willingness to learn.
Our Christian value for the term is courage. Ask your child about the story of Esther.
