Newsletter 9th June 2017

Dear Parents,

May Day – Friday May 26th

Many thanks to all those who helped in any way with this.  I thought it was a wonderful occasion.  The children danced beautifully, the food was superb, the sun smiled on us.  What more could we ask for?

Ash and Willow Class Charity Event

This will take place next Wednesday 14th June from 2.45pm onwards in the form of a cake sale.  Please do come to support the children and bring change to spend.

Willow Class Sharing Assembly

Family and friends of children in Willow Class are warmly invited to join us in the hall at 2.30pm next Friday 16th June.  We will hear a little bit about what they have been learning this year.

Year 1 Phonic Screening

Parents of children in Year 1 might like to know that the children will be screened next week for the Government Phonic Check.  This will take the form of a 10 minute test working individually with Mrs Weston.  The result will be reported in the end of year report, but if you have any questions in the interim, do ask Mrs Weston.

This week we congratulated:

  • Art: Aoife, for fantastic photography and great contributions in class;
  • Sport: Orla, for focus and determination when catching and throwing;
  • Cookery: George, for excellent focus and concentration;
  • Willow: Grace, for great ideas when creating a fairy recipe;
  • Ash: Tia, for fantastic writing in R.E; William, for neat and accurate work on multiplication and division;
  • Oak: Marcus, for making good progress in his maths; Jayden, for taking great care with his diary writing;
  • Beech: Islay, for a superb short story; Sapphire, for confident cycling all week.

Best wishes

Huw Morgan
