Dear parents and carers,
I am pleased to let you know that Felicity May Cornish (9lb 2oz) was born this morning. We wish her well and send best wishes to Mr and Mrs Cornish.
Congratulations to the children in the hockey team who take part in the county finals this week. They finished a creditable sixth out of 240 primary schools in Oxfordshire. Thank you to Mrs Brees for her dedication and commitment to all our sport – this is the second year running we have made it to the final.
Just a reminder that Forest School continues after the holidays with the same classes without a break, so Year 3 need their clothing and equipment on the first day back.
The Jacobs’ Field
Ash Class will be visiting the field on Fridays in the summer term. You should have received an e-mail with permission information; if not, please ask at the office. We will be having a digging session on the afternoon of Monday 15th April to get the ground ready, so if your child has enjoyed or will enjoy their time at the field in the future, please come to help if you possibly can. Parents from all year groups very welcome!
Beech Class Residential
We will be holding an information meeting after school on Tuesday 30th April to hand out paperwork and answer questions. Put the date in your diary now.
We finish today at 3.15pm and restart on Tuesday 23rd April. Have a good holiday.
Big Bike Ride – Sunday May 12th
Have you signed up yet? It is not too late to join the fun and take part in the cycling event of the year! There are rides for everyone from 70 miles to 150m and it is a great fundraiser for the school. Please encourage family, friends and colleagues to sign up too. The children learnt more about the Big Bike Ride in the Friday assembly last week and should have brought home a sponsorship form – it would be wonderful if lots of them could take part. The 3 mile circuit around Islip is suitable for any child who is a competent cyclist, whilst the 15 mile ride from Thame or the 35 mile ride from Great Missenden would be great achievements for older children. There is also the tikes and trikes ride for those 5 and under – any ride-on wheeled vehicle is accepted! Find out more and sign up at www.islipbigbikeride.com. If you have any questions, please email [email protected]
Our Christian Value this term is Forgiveness. This term we have thought about the parable of the Prodigal Son, the story of Zaccheus, Joseph and his brothers, mistakes that we make, the cross as a symbol of forgiveness, and the symbolism behind The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
How much can your child remember?
